Ravenclaw Challenge- Name the new house elf.

I think her name should be Shelby. I don't know why but I've always liked that name.

MITTEN SWAP

Well I've picked out the yarn and the pattern for my spoilee's mittens. I hope that she likes it, so I've gotten rave reviews on my pick. I went out and got the needles today and one more little gift for my other swap partner. Twilight swap is coming to a close and all I have left to do is put the finishing touches on her bag. I'll post a picture of the bag and her goodies next week after she receives it. I don't want to spoil the surprise!

HSKS6

I'm headed down to Diagon Alley to pick up my school supplies. I got to get my books, a wand, some robes both dress and regular, a broom, and my cauldron. I've always wanted a cauldron being a chemist in the muggle world. I'm so excited about being in this swap I keep looking at all the Harry Potter themed sock yarn and wondering what my partner might like. I can't wait to see what else goes on in the swap. It feels like it's going to be like a treasure hut.

X-MAS GIFTS

Well I've got one gift purchased already. My Daddy's gift is on the needles and my Momma's is about to be casted on. I'm involved in one swap and about to sign up for two others. My Twilight swap is going well but I need to finish that bag this weekend for sure. Since I last blogged I've made the Talia vest which I just need to weave in the ends, block and sew on the buttons. I also made another Cable Newsboy cap and this time I'm not going to lose it. ;o)

I loved knitting this blanket. I used 4 skeins of Patons merino wool and I have plans to make one using Eco-wool by Cascade.

New Vogue: Man I'm loving my new Vogue. The wedding and blue sections are just plain beautiful. I have no plans of having a wedding but if I ever changed my mind I would definitely look to this issue for some ideas. I'm already getting together my X-mas list and making plans to make my gifts early. So far my list looks like this:
Momma-Gaunlet Gloves
Daddy-Noro Scarf
Best Friend- Hat and mitten set
Boyfriend- Noro Scarf
Grandma-Lace Derby hat

My list is coming together very slowly, so I figure that if I get the two that I've already decided on done then I'll be ahead of the game.

Charity Knitting for Lent

I have decided that this year during the lenten season that I would knit as many preemie hats as humanly possible and donate them to my local hospital wards. I'm also working on the tilted duster skirt and picking out my first pattern for two socks knitted at one time. Finally a way to over come second sock syndrome.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!

I know I'm a little late. X-mas turned into a knitting frenzy as I tried to get all of my gifts done on time. This year I vow will be different. As early as next month I'm starting my x-mas gifts. There will be no more knitting at 3am x-mas morning for me. Right now I'm knitting selfishly. It's all about me and my tilted duster is coming along nicely.

X-mas Update

Well I got the knitting done on one project. The felted bag just needs to be felted and lined. Yeah, me! I decided to make my Daddy some socks and I'm plugging away on those. My Mom's moebius was thrown in the frog pond. It just wasn't flowing as nicely as I wanted it to. She will be getting a hat I think. I will be starting my Granny's hat this week come hell or high water. I can't put it off any longer. I'm plugging away on my Hemlock Blanklet and my tilted duster. I'll post pictures this week also. I recently joined Raverly and I'm really excited. Raverly name is chonnybunny.

My it has been a minute since I posted here. I plan to be a better blogger. Since we last talked I've gotten myself a Baynes spinning wheel. I can't spin worth nothing right now but after some much needed classes I'll have it together enough to show some pictures.

Whoo Hoo!!!!!!!!!!!
I finally finished my Kiri Shawl. Only took me two years! It is so pretty. When I first started knitting it, I bit off a little more than I could chew especially since I had never worked with mohair and I had only knit one shawl in my life. It definitely challenged my skills. I will post pictures at a later date. It is really lovely if I must say so myself.

Knit from your stash.

I have decided to join in on this great ideal. My stash is growing by leaps and bounds so I really need to knit some the projects that I bought it for.
My Rules:
1. All projects must use the yarn in my stash.
2. I can not buy any yarn except for on my birthday in March(if I get a gift certificate or something).
3. I can still buy books and magazines, never know when a stash busting project might catch my eye.
4. I will be free on September 16th from all yarn buying restrictions and will post my pictures of my finished projects.
5. Rule number 3 does not include the shawl and sock yarn clubs that I currently belong to, I just can't join another. It also does not include the yarn that will be purchased for my commissioned projects for other people.

Sometimes all I think about is knitting. Lately in my mind I've been trying to figure out a way to make this cute little doll that I saw in a cartoon that I was watching over the weekend. I'm sure that the doll was made out of material but I have an overwhelming desire to design a knitted version of this doll. So this week I plan on drawing it out and looking at some teddy bear patterns to help me out.

The new year has started and I have decided to complete some of my UFO's of years gone by. Starting with the Kiri Shawl. Then I will move on the Shale Water shawl. Notice a pattern, it is all shawls that I have started then abandoned when the going got tough or a new and more exciting pattern came along. So now I hope to finish these projects along with a summer lace sweater that I started at least two years ago. Wish me luck!

See Chon Knit
Been a long time since I last blogged. Right now I'm feeling the X-mas crunch to finish all of my gifts on time. I'm a little off schedule so I hope to make up some time this weekend
