New Year, Same Ole Me

I decided that I need to post something on my blog. I'm knocking around a idea for a story. This is really going to be the year that I manage to put more than two chapters of a story out. I'm tired of only being able to do that. I'm going to find my muse and put it to good use. I got new characters and new plots swilling in my head. It's only fitting that I write their story. I have also decided that this is the year that I'm going to design some for myself in knitting. I'm going to need to make some time for all of this so I'm cutting back my swaps. So far I'm only involved in one and I may add just one more but I have got to keep them down to a minimum. I can't knit for myself for all of these swaps that I keep committing myself to. I'm just going to be a little selfish this first part of the year. I also reached out to my ex. I know what you're thinking going back is never a good idea but when all you think about is this person and all he thinks about is you maybe just maybe this time will be the one that works.

Coming Down the Home Stretch

My owl Misty is preparing for her trip this weekend. She will be winging her way towards Poppy Plout. She and I both know that it will be a long trip so I'm packing all of her favorite treats. I'm off the barn now to check on her.

WOO HOO THE HOLIDAY SEASON IS UPON US

I love this time of year. All of the shopping, planning and sneaking presents into the house just makes me so happy. There is nothing like finding the perfect present and watching their face light up with joy when they open it. I have a couple of sewing projects to start and finish and two knitting projects for xmas. I really need to get busy tonight!

B-Ball Weekend

I had a great Thanksgiving. My mother and I cooked a wonderful meal. We faced Black Friday with great exuberance and a plan. We got everything we were looking for and then some. Tomorrow we are heading to Cleveland, Ohio to see a basketball game. I'm not a Cleveland fan(Go Lakers) but I do enjoy a good game and I look forward to seeing King James and crew.

Arriana rides again!!

After a freak accident that broke my broom in half I'm finally back in the air with a new Nimbus 8500. It is a really smooth ride and very response to the slightest touch. Hopefully all of my teammates will get one so that we can pound the competition into the pavement. Well I'm off to practice.

Sample Story

Sometimes a story just enters my mind begging to be written so here goes.

"You really should have been wearing a vest Storm," my doctor and best friend Mira fussed as she removed what had to be the fifteenth bullet from my chest. It's a good thing that I'm immortal.
"I was but the bullets went straight through it and caused the damn thing to start burning on my skin. I removed it on the drive over," I told her though clenched teeth. "Are you almost done yet?"
"I'm on the last one stop being such a baby."
I laughed and immediately regretted it as pain shot through my chest. Sure, I was almost impossible to kill but did he have to empty his whole clip into me. I was the lucky one, the rest of my team not so much. The bullets that these men used were demon killers and powerful enough that one shot took out most of the people with me. The only reason I was still alive was probably because I wasn't all demon. I was half-vampire and half vampire slayer. I had all of their strengths and none of their weaknesses.

Quidditch

Whew, I just made it in time for practice. Our Capt Clara and her asst Rowan run a pretty tight ship. I can't wait for out first match. We are going to crush them under our axes! I've narrowed down what I want to make of my spoilee but I'm going to keep it close to my chest just in case she's checking out my page. Well practice is getting ready to start I'll be back later.

Hello From the Muggle World

Over the past month I've been bogged down with muggle affairs. Just when I think the fire is out another on pops up in the opposite corner. This weekend we are having a meeting with the board of my muggle organization to hammer out the details of our conference next year. I hope that things go well but I'm preparing for the worst. After this is done there will still be work to do but we'll know what direction to head in.

Now I'm heading off to Quidditch practice!

Homework For HSKS 9

1. Someone with the same craft as you. Penelope of Flitwick
2. Someone who was born in the same month. Andromeda Finch-Fletchley
3. Someone from a different country. Emma Wigworthy
4. A new HSKS Quidditch Player. Stellwa Quinn
5. A player who has been in 3 or more HSKS swaps. Minerva Lovegood
6. A player who has a bigger stash than you! Cassandra Crimsonchin
7. A player who both knits and crochets. Victoria Pettigrew
8. Someone who has the same favorite color as you. Madam Ferula McGonagall

I had a lot of fun checking out my team mates and the competition. Emma is a wonderful designer of knee high socks and I seriously want to make a few of them. Andromeda has the most wonderful Pisces mittens on her project page that speak to the Pisces in me. Pisces Rock! I had the hardest time finding someone who likes red. Madam Ferula McGonagall was one of the few to have it in the list of colors that she likes. Victoria has mastered the one craft that I could never do well- Crochet. I swear that it hates me. Well my memory spell has failed me. Now I off to the closet to pull out my Nimbus and check out how its flying. Must get to practice. See Ya!

"Are you going to any fiber fests this autumn? If so which ones and why?"

I've already gone to my favorite wool festival. The Wool Gathering in Yellow Springs, OH. This year I bought all fiber and a few knitting knick knacks(for my secret pals). I got 4oz of undyed merino roving, 1oz of dyed in the locks wool, 4oz of super soft gray/brown merino roving, a handmade dark wood wraps per inch tool, and 16oz of a steel blue merino roving. I'm in fiber heaven now I just need to make some time to spin. I may also go to an Alpaca Festival that is taking place in a couple of weeks. I love getting alpaca samples from these festivals.

"If I won the lottery what would I do?"

After I have taken care of my family and quit my job, I would buy an alpaca farm and a yarn shop. Then I would devote myself to spinning and knitting for the rest of my life.

Back from the Muggle World

Hello I'm back. I have a really interesting time in the muggle world. New Orleans was very hot and muggy. The air there just sat on you. The muggles covention was very interesting and it kept me hopping everyday. Then we flew by plane instead of broom to San Jose, CA. It was hot there but it is a dry heat. We drove up the coast to Monterey and boy was it pretty. I saw seals in there natural habitat and I was glad not to see any sharks. From what people tell me they love seals. Glad that they were absent. Well I've got to go and see what my cabin mates have been up to.

Muggle World Here I come

Right now I'm going though my WIP's and trying to figure out what projects that I'm taking with me on my two week trip. New Orleans is first on the list and I don't expect to have a lot of knitting time. In San Francisco I 'll have plenty of knitting time. At all day volleyball tournaments I get hours of uninterrupted time. Some I'm going to take one of my shawls, two of my sweaters and some socks. Of course I hope to get a chance to check out a couple of the local yarns shops. I can't wait.

In Muggle News

In two weeks I'll be casting off my robes for some Muggle clothes and heading to New Orleans and then San Francisco. I'm so excited that I can hardly contain myself. While I'm in the muggle world I'll collect some muggles things to bring back to camp and share with my roommates! I'll even take plenty of muggle pictures although they will be boring and won't move around like ours I still believe that we'll enjoy looking at them.

ASTRONOMY

Betelgeuse(Alpha Orionis)- is also known as the red supergiant. This star is so big that it's diameter can be easily measured but it is the surface area that is tricky to measure. This star is surrounded by a huge pattern of nested dust and gas shells which are a direct result of aeons mass loss. It is around 1o million years old. This star can be found on the right shoulder of my favorite constellation Orion the hunter. He was a friend of Athena, who was killed by her by accident when her brother turned him into a boar. She placed him in the stars so that she could always see him.
