Baby Girl

Being a parent gives me a whole new view of the world. Right now I'm knitting my little Zari some socks, a bunting and two dresses. I've made her a hat and a sweater to date. I love knitting for her. In the future we are going to have matching sock monkey hats!

Baby Stockstill on the way

Well it's been a long time since I posted anything here. As you might've guessed from the title I'm having a baby.  I am knitting away trying to have some stuff ready for the baby when she gets here.  I'm so excited and scared at the same time. This is a huge deal for me. I just hope that I'm a good parent.

X--mas Gifts

Wow Christmas is just 5 months away and I have already started knitting one of my gifts. My Dad is getting a red cobblestone sweater and my Mom is getting a blue shawl. Her shawl is on the needles but I yet to knit a stitch but my Dad's in on the needles and I've knit about five inches. I have a couple of more projects planned but I just haven't narrowed down the patterns yet for my friends.

A Little Late with my post

I forgot to post here last week. I am way out of practice but since I've been gone I have finished two projects so I get to start two new ones. Yeah! I plan to knit the Mosey legwarmers first and then I am thinking of making the Hedgerow coat next or the Cassidy cardigan. I don't know I'm on the fence about which one I want to start. They are both so pretty and cabled just like I like them. I also signed up for Stitches South and I'm taking a spin to knit course and a design your dream sweater. When I finish I'll be one step closer to completing another resolution that I set for myself. Well until next time! See ya!

The Hiatus Is Over

Hello fellow knitters, I'm back.  It has been a long time since I have blogged and I promise to post at least once a week from now on. I've decided that this is my year and I'm going to set a few knitting goals for myself.
GOALS

1. Design an original sweater
2. Get an early jump on my knitted x-mas gifts.
3. Finish a project before I start a new one.
4. Figure out a way to start my own knitting business.

Well I will see y'all next week!

The end is near!

This has been a world wind semester at Hogwarts. I hate that I didn't get to go to Hogsmeade this time but maybe next semester I will. I'm current putting the finishing touches on my kit despite my dogs repeated interference. Such as ripping up my pattern and my project on seperate occations. He is a really bad dog but so cute when my project is not in his mouth. I will be sending my kit this Friday no matter what.

Holiday Weekend

My holiday weekend for the most part was a blast. The only downer was that my Grandmother who is very ill is not bouncing back as quickly as we would like. She looked pretty good, way better that I expected actually but she is still in the hospital and still extremely weak. I'm praying for her recovery.
Now on to the fun part. My first day there in Mississippi I ran into an old friend that I hadn't seen in about twenty years. And let me say he has aged very well. He is so fine to me. He and my cousin were the best of friends and that meant that when I came down for the summers we would all hang together. I would borrow my Grandmother's car and my cousin and I would pick him up and we'd ride all over town. I say town because I'm from a very small town in Mississippi and it didn't take more than about fifteen minutes to ride all over town if that but as teenagers we thought we were doing something. Anyway it was so nice to see him and I made sure that I got his number. He now lives in the ATL which is only about seven hours from me. I would definitely make that ride to see him if things go okay between us.
That same night my mother and I went to the local hole in the wall blues club. I played pool and danced and generally had a great time. So much so that I repeated it the next night. I am really glad that I went and saw my peeps and my old friend.

Memorial Weekend

Woo-hoo I have a four day weekend. I can't barely contain my excitement. I'm going to Mississippi to see my folks. It is going to be smoking hot down there. When I get there I'm going to the juke joint to play a little pool. I just can't wait.

Woo Hoo It's Friday

Let's just stay that Friday arrived not a moment to soon. Boy am I glad that it is the end of the week. Tomorrow is my Mother's birthday and I have no clue what she had planned for me and my Father but we will be willing participants. I got her some cool beads for her bracelet so she should be pretty happy with me. My story is starting to worry me. It wants to be on paper so I keep getting flashes. This is a good thing I'm sure. Besides it is past time for me to write a novel.

Frustrated

Men can be so frustrating and pigheaded. I need a plan to get my dude to accept my cat. I'm going to have to be sneaky though. Why is it that us poor animal lovers always fall for people who hate or are afraid of animals? I love him to death but I love my cat too! Talk about a rock and a hard place. I'm going to figure this out though and not being with him is not an option.

To Buy Or Not To Buy the new iPad

I'm really torn. I want an iPad so bad that I can taste it. I told myself just last night that I can't get one without a valid reason. Just wanting one is not enough. I have plenty of things I bought under the guise of because I wanted it. I need a real reason to drop that kind of money on a device other than the want reason. So I'm making a list.
1. I can access Ravelry on the go not just at my desk top
2. I can write down the ideas for my novel when they hit me instead
3. ?

Woo Hoo We Won! We Won! Huzzah Hufflepuff!

Last weekend's Quidditch game was exciting to say the least. With only three players we managed to pull off the victory. Our Keeper Rowena went down do to unforeseen circumstances but Allitrya, and me held off the Gryfinndor team just long enough for Rowan to find the snitch just moments before their seeker. We are so walking around the castle with our chests poked out. It's a wonderful feeling.

"What I did this weekend"

Hello fellow Hufflepuffs. This weekend was all about muggles. I helped host a conference for the Northern District Division of the Knights of Peter Claver. Everyone began checking in on Thursday and by Friday the conference was in full swing with the ladies and men attending both joint and seperate meetings. The Friday night social was a big success. On Saturday we had a prayer breakfast whose procedes went to the Junior division. We also had vendors, who sold everything from jewelry to african cloth. On Sunday we closed everything with mass at our church St. Joseph. All in all it was a wonderful event. I'm glad that it's over and that everyone had a great time.

PROJECT YARNWAY

I've completed my brainstorm for my bag for a special function. My bag is going to function as a purse/knitting bag. The lining will be quite unique. The fabric that I'm using to line it is from Africa and has quite a wow factor. Right now I'm working on the base of it. I've yet to pick out the fair isle design for it but I do have all of the colors that I plan to use. Pictures of the in progress bag to come. Stay tuned

Week One Homework

Characters we like and why.

Hermoine: I like her bookish ways. She is never afraid to voice her opinion and always knows the answer.

Bellatrix: Her loyalty to the Dark Lord is a thing of legend, if only she was on the right side. I love the fact that she is very unpredictable and that she has a gray streak like me.

Tonks: I love her dedication to her job and her family. The fact that she loves Lupin despite that fact that he's furry once a month makes me admire her. I have a soft spot for werewolves.
